FAQs
What is DeutschReflect?
DeutschReflect is a tool for professional feedback on learner texts.
It provides structured analysis, focused self-correction training, and a corrected version of the text — always matched to the learner’s level.
Who is DeutschReflect for?
Adult German learners (A1–C2)
DaF teachers who want efficient, high-quality text feedback
It is especially useful when lesson time should focus on speaking and interaction, not long corrections.
What makes DeutschReflect different from normal corrections?
DeutschReflect:
does not correct everything, only what matters most
prioritises clarity and learning impact
stays strictly at the learner’s level
separates analysis, training, and rewriting clearly
The result is coaching, not red-pen correction.
How many errors are corrected?
A maximum of 6–8 key errors
Only the most relevant ones (meaning, clarity, noticeable patterns)
Repeated errors are grouped, not repeated
If fewer relevant errors exist, fewer are shown. Errors are never invented.
Is grammar explained?
Yes — but only at an appropriate level.
A1/A2: simple rules, fixed phrases, examples
B1/B2: structured rules with practical focus
C1/C2: style, register, precision
No grammar terminology beyond the learner’s level.
Does the learner have to complete all training tasks?
No.
The training blocks are invitations to reflect and practise, not mandatory homework.
Learners choose what they want to focus on.
Is the entire text rewritten?
Yes, but with strict limits:
no new content
no stylistic upgrade beyond the level
meaning stays as close as possible to the original
The learner should recognise their own voice.
Is DeutschReflect suitable for very short texts?
Yes.
For short texts, only a few key points are addressed.
There is no artificial expansion to reach a number.
What happens with almost error-free texts?
Then:
very few or no errors are analysed
focus may shift to style or expression (from B1 upwards)
feedback remains short and respectful
How does DeutschReflect handle spelling mistakes?
Spelling errors are:
clearly identified
not turned into grammar training
often grouped together
Pure spelling issues do not trigger unnecessary grammar explanations.
Can DeutschReflect be used in lessons?
Yes, very effectively:
as homework with follow-up discussion
to prepare focused writing feedback
as a basis for speaking activities
for self-correction between lessons
Does DeutschReflect replace the teacher?
No.
DeutschReflect supports and structures the work.
The teacher decides what to deepen and uses the saved time for interaction.
Is DeutschReflect only for German?
Currently yes — German as a Foreign Language.
However, the didactic logic is language-independent.
